1. What we collect
- Financial data — the income, expenses, savings, debt, subscriptions, retirement details, goals, and net worth you enter manually. If you choose to link a bank account, financial account and transaction data is accessed read-only through Plaid.
- Account data — your email address and authentication credentials, used to create and secure your account.
- Usage data — basic activity such as which features you use and when, used to keep the app working and to improve it.
- Push notification tokens — device identifiers used to deliver alerts. These are created only if you install the mobile app and grant notification permission, and are used solely to route notifications to your devices.
- Notification history — a record of alerts sent to your account, kept so your notification list is available across your devices and survives reinstalling the app.
2. How we use it
We use your information to provide the core Early Edge features: building your monthly plan, tracking your safe-to-spend, emergency fund, retirement, goals, and net worth, and powering the Early Bird AI guidance. Your financial context is sent to our AI provider only to generate the personalized responses you request. We do not use your data for advertising.
3. Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers required to operate Early Edge:
- Supabase — secure database and authentication.
- Plaid — read-only bank connection (only if you choose to enable bank linking).
- Stripe — subscription payment processing. We never store your full card details.
- Anthropic — powers the Early Bird AI; your financial context is shared to generate responses.
- Resend — sends transactional and update emails.
- Expo (exp.host) — receives device push tokens and notification content solely to deliver push alerts to your device.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
4. How we protect it
Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest through our infrastructure providers, Supabase and Netlify. Access is restricted to the systems needed to deliver the service.
5. Your rights
You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can edit most of your data directly in the app, and you can request a full export or deletion by contacting us.
6. Data retention & deletion
We retain your data while your account is active. If you cancel, your data is kept for 30 days in case you return, after which it may be permanently deleted. You can request immediate deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing privacy@earlyedgeapp.com. You can also delete your account directly from the Account tab within the app.
